Our Story: Our journey began when my brother and I were contemplating business ideas to participate in the Idea Lab program. In a mere 10 minutes, we conceived the concept of a cutting-edge product—an energy-generating backpack that harnesses movement and solar power. We questioned the feasibility of such an idea and devoted hours to thorough research, exploring the potential of combining these two energy sources.

Once confident in its viability, we reached out to the Idea Lab program team, transforming our mental image into a compelling pitch that secured us the first-place position and advanced us to the next stage.

For the subsequent phase, we enlisted the expertise of Grace Harb, an accomplished designer, and Jamal Braish, a skilled mechanical engineer, to assist us in materializing our idea into a functional prototype. Collaboratively, Jamal and I focused on the development of a motor that could effectively generate energy from movement, while also incorporating solar panels into the design to capture sunlight and convert it into usable power. I oversaw the electrical components, ensuring seamless integration of both energy-generation mechanisms, while Jamal worked diligently on the mechanical aspects.

Grace contributed her design expertise to create a visually appealing backpack that not only houses the necessary components but also maximizes the exposure to sunlight for optimal solar energy conversion. Bahaa, on the other hand, took charge of fostering relationships with partners, establishing new collaborations, and ensuring widespread recognition for the backpack’s name.

Through our collective efforts, we successfully brought the prototype of the “Eco Gen Charger Pack” to life—an embodiment of our vision, utilizing both movement and solar energy to generate power. Presently, we stand on the cusp of transforming the Eco Gen Charger Pack into a truly remarkable design, marking a significant milestone in our journey.
